About The Workshop
Join Profoto lighters’ guild member Yaw Asiedu for a one day in person hands on lighting workshop. This workshop is a beauty lighting workshop and will focus on the basics of lighting, and the kind of light I use to create some of my beauty work.
I put this workshop together with one goal in mind - to help photographers become more confident with studio lighting! In the beginning when I started photography I had to learn everything through trial and error, I would love to pass along my knowledge to others.
This workshop will focus primarily on Beauty, however no matter what you shoot I believe the information from this workshop will be very helpful to you. This is not a “shoot like me” workshop, I want to show you what I know, give you tips and tricks to help you take the driver’s seat and setup your own light for the mood you’re looking to capture. I want you to be able to do your own setups when you leave the workshop. we will cover the basics / what I think is important to know about studio lighting.
This is not only an excellent learning opportunity but it’s a great way to network and be around other like-minded creatives. This workshop is small and exclusive and only open to ten (10) attendees, this allows me to focus on individuals and cater to every attendees needs. it does not matter if you are an amateur, or a full time professional specializing in an entirely different field of photography, I am sure that after this workshop you will leave with new ideas, knowledge, and inspiration to start practicing. After all practice makes perfect.

Its All In The Control
A great beauty photographer has an arsenal of lighting setups and prepares for any shoot by considering a series of important questions. What lighting flatters my subject? Is the lighting meant to showcase a particular product? How can the mood created by the lighting tell a story? What’s the most important element of the shoot (color, skin texture, or mood) and how can my lighting enhance that? Whatever your answers are to these questions, your lighting must always be precise and carefully controlled.
“It all comes down to the mood, intention and style. Knowing the purpose of your shot is so important-- when you know what you are trying to achieve and draw attention to, it’s easier to determine the best lighting for the shot.
My goal is to help photographers become more confident with studio lighting!”
